Outreach award winner helps Alabama high school students navigate FAFSA

Portia Johnson, an assistant professor and Extension specialist in the College of Human Sciences, created the Alabama FAFSA Application Survival Toolkit to help students, families and educators navigate the application process.

Students in the Grantmaking for Philanthropists class, offered through the College of Human Sciences, awarded a grant to Nourish Wellness — a pediatric lifestyle medicine center for children and their families — to enhance and expand an existing community garden.
