Short Bio

Bridget Wingo is the Lab Manager for the Child Sleep, Health, & Development Lab at Auburn University. Working under the direction of Dr. Mona El-Sheikh, Professor of Human Development and Family Science, Bridget has managed the daily operations of two National Institutes of Health–funded R01 grants for the past 20 years. These long-term projects have followed more than 600 families annually since 2005, exploring children’s, adolescents', and young adults' sleep patterns and physiological regulation—how the body responds to stress—over time. The ultimate goal of this research is to better understand how sleep and emotion regulation influence development and overall functioning. An Auburn University alumna (B.S. ’01, M.S. ’03, Human Development and Family Science), Bridget is currently completing her Ph.D. in Adult Education at Auburn. In addition to her university work, she serves as Wellness Consultant for TRINDGROUP, a local marketing agency, where she supports employees dealing with stress and mental health challenges. She has also given several presentations across campus, sharing practical strategies for managing stress, improving sleep, and promoting well-being. Bridget lives in Auburn with her husband, Sam, their 11-year-old son, Gabe, and their three Westies—Harold, Martha, and Gigi.
