Short Bio
Sookwang is a designer and lecturer whose research is based on parametric furniture design. The work focuses on exploring digital fabrication methods through advanced tools such as AR technology, robotic arms, and 3D printers. Main academic research has placed special emphasis on airport interior design, particularly spaces that represent future and technology. In teaching, Sookwang integrates traditional hand sketching with Computer-Aided Design (CAD), providing students with a strong foundation in both classic and modern design techniques. Before joining academia, Sookwang built a diverse career in the kitchen and bath industry, creating designs for kitchen countertops and conducting research on kitchen interior trends and market preferences in both residential and commercial contexts. The overarching goal is to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional design practice, equipping students with practical skills and insights that prepare them for successful careers.
