Short Bio
Kait leads the Hunger Solutions Institute’s programming, research, and outreach to strategically develop local and regional food systems. She administers the Delta Healthy Food Financing Initiative, which provides technical assistance and accessible financing to farm and food businesses in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Her primary research interests are agricultural labor, agrarian change, and food system inequities. She is currently leading a research project studying agrifood labor shortages in the Alabama Black Belt.
