Short Bio

Kaitlynn Slaughter, B.S., CFLE is the Program Coordinator for the Alabama Youth Relationship Education (AYRE) Project. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences, with a minor in Psychological Sciences, from Auburn University in May 2022. Kaitlynn joined the project as an undergraduate intern and has remained with the AYRE project since! In her current position, Kaitlynn coordinates and maintains partnerships with high schools across Lee County and surrounding areas, supporting the delivery of evidence‑based youth relationship education programs. She recruits, trains, schedules, and supervises near‑peer educators, while also co‑facilitating classroom programming and ensuring fidelity to program models. Kaitlynn helps to sustain the Near Peer model across partnered sites by supporting student development, coordinating implementation logistics, and assisting with data collection and reporting requirements. Her work helps bridge university and community partnerships to deliver high‑quality relationship education to youth. She also assists with the implementation of adult relationship education classes through the Alabama Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education Initiative (AHMREI).
