Short Bio
Georges Fares is an Assistant Professor of Interior Design in the Department of Consumer and Design Sciences at Auburn University. His research focuses on neuro-architecture and sensory design, examining how spatial environments influence perception, behavior, and well-being. His teaching and creative scholarship emphasize experiential learning, cross-cultural design inquiry, and the integration of emerging technologies such as digital fabrication, virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence. He regularly engages undergraduate and graduate students in funded research projects that connect historical and cultural analysis with contemporary digital methods, including ongoing work examining Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s architecture at the Chigi Palace through digital modeling and immersive visualization.
