Short Bio

Amrut Sadachar, Ph.D. is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Consumer and Design Sciences at Auburn University. He holds a Ph.D. in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design from Iowa State University. Dr. Sadachar’s research focuses on consumer behavior in apparel and retail contexts, with particular emphasis on sustainable consumption, technology-enabled retail experiences, emotional intelligence, and consumer well-being. His work has been published in leading refereed journals and recognized with multiple national and international awards. A dedicated educator and mentor, he teaches courses in apparel merchandising, retail management, entrepreneurship, and professional development, and actively works to bridge academia and industry through experiential learning and industry partnerships.
