Overview

The College of Human Sciences London Fashion Tour provides students with opportunities to experience a unique cultural view of the European fashion industry. London, a global fashion capital, is full of the history of both the textile and apparel industries. This alternative Spring Break study abroad opportunity combines classroom knowledge with field experiences and is a perfect option for students who are looking for a less expensive and shorter study abroad program. In 2012, London was named the Top Global Fashion Capital. London is consistently in the Top 3 Global Fashion Capitals. Students will also make cultural and historical site visits (e.g. Westminster Abbey, The Tower of London, Hampton Court, St, Paul's Cathedral, Kensington Palace, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, and a performance of a West End show.

Students will have the unique opportunity to visit behind the scenes in the Victoria and Albert Museum with a private guided tour. In addition, the United Kingdom is the home of the Industrial Revolution which was led by the textile industry. The program will permit students the opportunity to understand cross-cultural similarities and differences between the U.S. and British industries.
