Whether you are transferring from another institution or you have decided to pick back up where you left off in your higher education journey, we are here to support you in finishing your bachelor’s degree through Auburn University.
Once you join the Auburn Family and the Human Development and Family Science department, you will receive academic support and professional guidance through a dedicated Student Success Coordinator along with the faculty that will be teaching your courses.
Upon completion of required courses* graduates will be qualified to seek an Early Child Development Certificate (Pre-K) which meets requirements to teach preschool in State of Alabama-funded pre-k classrooms.
Auburn University’s online Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science, Early Child Development (HDFS ECD) completer degree program provides a fully online and asynchronous curriculum. Students are able to receive the high-quality education that Auburn University provides with the convenience of completing coursework when their schedule allows.
Courses are offered in 7 ½ week mini terms, with 5 terms available each academic year. Students are also able to enroll in other online courses offered through Auburn University during traditional terms.
To earn a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science, Early Child Development option, students must complete 120 credits, 60 of which may be transferred from other institutions. Of the 73 credit hours from HDFS ECD courses, 12 credits are completed during an internship placement in the final semester.
