Fun Facts
Sarah Barber Newton is serving as a consultant at Auburn University in the College of Human Sciences. She holds a BS in education from Auburn University and two MS degrees; one in education administration and the other in leadership.

Ms. Newton is a lifelong educator, beginning as a classroom teacher and ending her K-12 career as a principal. For 16 years, she served on the Auburn University Board of trustees as chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. Believing in Auburn’s land grant mission to educate all citizens, Ms. Newton founded the EAGLES Program (Education to Accomplish Growth in Life Experiences for Success). The EAGLES Program at Auburn University is a comprehensive postsecondary transition opportunity for students with intellectual disabilities aged 18-26.

Currently Ms. Newton is working with programs in Human Development and Family Science as well as Hospitality Management to increase access to an Auburn University education through innovative programs and partnerships.
