Lauren Bush Lauren

Co-Founder and CEO of FEED

The Auburn University College of Human Sciences proudly announces that Lauren Bush Lauren, Co-Founder and CEO of FEED, has been named as the 2017 IQLA Laureate. Lauren launched FEED in 2007 as a social enterprise to combat global hunger through the sale of high quality, sustainable jewelry, clothing, and accessories. In the past 10 years, through online sales and in the Brooklyn-based FEED store, as well as fundraising initiatives such as FEED Suppers and the Run 10 FEED 10 10 K, FEED has provided a staggering 100,000,000 meals to school children and others in need in the developing world, as well as here at home where hunger is still a pressing issue for 42 million Americans. Working with international and domestic NGO partners including the World Food Programme, UNICEF, and Feeding America, and retailers such as Whole Foods, West Elm, Harrods, Pottery Barn, and Bergdorf Goodman, FEED is providing not just a meal, but lasting nutrition that is impacting the health status, educational achievement, and economic welfare of individuals and communities now and for generations to come.

Lauren was raised in Texas and graduated from Princeton University in 2006 with a B.A. in Anthropology. While at Princeton, she served as Student Ambassador for the World Food Programme where she traveled to Asia, Latin America, Africa, viewing firsthand the devastating effects of hunger, a life altering experience that led to the founding of FEED. A former model and designer, Lauren’s impressive recognitions include listings in Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs (2009); Inc.’s 30 Under 30 (2010); Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneurs (2014); and Crain’s 40 Under 40 (2014). She is also the recipient of the 2010 Accessories Council Humanitarian Award, the 2011 Stevie Award for Best Non-Profit Executive; and the 2013 Communications Award.
