In 1994, the College of Human Sciences at Auburn University launched the International Quality of Life Awards in conjunction with the United Nations' International Year of the Family. Through these awards, CHS proudly honors people and partnerships who have made significant and lasting contributions to individual, family, and community well-being locally and around the world. All laureates, regardless of
background, demonstrate a strong commitment to empowerment through public policy and educational initiatives to enhance quality of life. They are powerful role models who exemplify the belief system of the College of Human Sciences. At the heart of their professional success lies a true concern for the human condition -- an inspiration to all, but particularly to our young people throughout the world.
