Short Bio

Kim Ellis Walker has served as the Director of the Women’s Philanthropy Board since 2012. A two-time graduate of Auburn University, Kim received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Accounting and Master’s Degree in Adult Education. She is a Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE) and has more than 20 years of experience in fundraising, alumni relations, event planning, marketing/communications, and outreach program development. Kim previously worked for Auburn University in several capacities including serving as the Director of External Relations and Director of Development for the College of Education and as a Development Coordinator in the Office of Planned Giving. Kim serves as Vice President of the Board of the F. Allen and Louise K. Turner Foundation and is also on the board of the Auburn Heritage Association.

Professional Experience

Director of Women's Philanthropy Board, College of Human Sciences - August 2012-Present

Lead's the efforts of the Women's Philanthropy Board (WPB), an educational outreach program for adults focusing on personal financial sustainability/wellness and philanthropic engagement. Directed more than 100 educational programs featuring almost 200 unique speakers including notables such as Former First Lady Laura Bush, international nonprofit leader Dr. Jane Goodall, actress and activist Marlo Thomas, and travel educator Rick Steves.

Secures private financial support from individuals and businesses through WPB memberships and partnerships. Created WPB's Men's Auxiliary, The Phils, as a way for men to support the mission of WPB. 

Produces communications and marketing materials promoting WPB's mission, programs, and events

Director of External Relations, College of Education - 2001-2004

Created and executed events and programs to engage alumni, donors, parents, faculty, staff, and students.

Produced the College's first alumni magazine, donor recognition societies, and scholarship/faculty award ceremonies.

Director of Development, College of Education - 1998-2001

Cultivated and solicited alumni, friends, corporations, and foundations for outright and deferred gifts in support of the College.
