    The Haggard Family Annual Undergraduate Research Award and The Fred and Charlene Kam Endowed Fund for Research Excellence in Nutrition-Dietetics awards deserving undergraduate nutrition students to gain research experience under the supervision of a nutrition faculty mentor.   • Auburn University Undergraduate Research Fellowship

  • Auburn University-CMB Undergraduate Research Scholars
    The AU-CMB program sponsors a Summer Research Scholars program to provide talented undergraduate students an opportunity to conduct research during the summer with a CMB faculty member (Drs. Undergraduate Research News 2014-15

  • AU-CMB Undergraduate Research Scholars for 2014-2015
    Jonathan Whitehead will be working in the Jeganathan Lab. His project title is: Accumulation of Pro-NGF in hippocampus of postmortem human Alzheimer's disease brain.

    Katie Vines will be working in the Jeganathan Lab. Her project title is: Interaction of TRAF6 with AKT.

  • AU Undergraduate Research Fellow for 2014-2015
    Alex Cool will be working in the Greene Lab. Her project title is: Role of macrophage polarization in obesity-linked colon cancer growth.

  • Honors Research Seminar: Role of Sugary Drinks in the Development of Obesity
    Twelve undergraduate students are enrolled in Greene’s Spring 2015 class to conduct novel biomedical research on the role of sugary drinks in feeding behavior, activity, and energy expenditure.

  • College Nutrition Project: Get Fruved!
    XXX undergraduate students are working with Dr. Brown on her USDA funded project to improve dietary quality and increase physical activity in college students.

Graduate Research News

  • Chen Zheng and Yuwen Luo
    passed their PhD qualifying exams in Nov 2014.

  • Dorcas Mukigi
    was awarded a Graduate Extension Assistantship for 2014-2015.

  • Ty-Anne Tench
    was awarded a NOBIDAN Professional Development Scholarship for 2014 from the National Organization of Blacks in Dietetics and Nutrition (NOBIDAN), a member interest group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

  • Yuwen Luo
    presented a poster titled “Sugary Water Consumption Leads to Adipose, Liver, and Metabolic Dysfunction in a Western Diet-Induced Model of NAFLD” at the American Diabetes Association 74th Scientific Sessions, San Francisco, California – Jun 2014.

  • Shraddha Rege
    presented a poster titled “Resveratrol Protects Proteins Associated with Memory Loss in Obese Diabetic Mice” at the American Diabetes Association 74th Scientific Sessions, San Francisco, California – Jun 2014.
