ABOUT NDHM

The Department of Nutrition, Dietetics, and Hospitality Management combines three degree programs facilitating integrative studies to develop professional skills for careers in education, tourism, government, and business. Undergraduate and graduate courses are offered in nutrition and hospitality management, as well as undergraduate concentrations in wellness, nutrition science, and dietetics.

Professionals in Nutrition conduct research and provide education and/or counseling for a variety of audiences in settings including medical centers and hospitals, extended care facilities, schools, and public health agencies. The Hotel and Restaurant Management program, uniquely partnered with the Ithaka Hospitality Partners, is a model for hospitality education congruent with top global industry and educational standards, and prepares students for careers in the premium service segment of the hospitality industry.

Department faculty in Nutrition make great strides in enhancing the quality and nutritional value of food, conducting research in obesity and diabetes, and identifying the role of nutrients in disease prevention and treatment. Hotel and Restaurant Management faculty are internationally recognized for increasing service excellence and promoting customer satisfaction in the hospitality industry.
