Pre-professional Curriculum

The pre-professional program in Nutrition/Dietetics is required for students seeking admission to the Didactic Program in Dietetics. The first two years of coursework are designed to provide the student with a strong foundation in the basic sciences and an introduction to nutrition. Freshmen and on- and off-campus transfer students who desire to major in Nutrition/Dietetics will be admitted to Pre-dietetics (NTDX).

Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD)

The Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition/Dietetics consists of the 2-year pre-professional component and the 2-year professional Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). The Auburn DPD meets the Standards of Education and Core Knowledge for the RD as set forth by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Course Requirements for Graduate Students Seeking DPD Verification

Students completing the M.S. in Nutrition can complete additional coursework and receive a Verification Statement of DPD program completion.
